Dubai: Many airlines have increased the number of services to cope with the summer travel rush. India's leading airline Air India on Thursday announced that it has increased the number of flights on the Dubai to Delhi sector.

An additional 18 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and one Airbus between the two destinations will operate on Wednesday between the two destinations, said PP Singh, regional manager for Gulf, Middle East and Africa of Air India and Air India Express. On the first day, 246 passengers flew from Dubai to Delhi.

Due to overcrowding, seats were not available on the extra flight on Thursday. The ticket price is Dhs 1130 for one way only. The business class fare is Dhs 2030. Additional flight bookings will be available till next October.

Summer vacation has started in most schools across the country from Friday. Passengers from UAE to India are more during this period. Air fares are six times higher till mid-July. There is no seat available in most of the flights.

At the same time, airlines are offering a number of services in anticipation of travel. A number of offers have been announced, including a free ticket to enter Burj Khalifa for those booking a flight from home to Dubai on an Emirates flight. Etihad Airlines has also taken the necessary precautions to enable a seamless travel experience. The off-airport check-in service for baggage pick-up will also come into effect in Abu Dhabi by the middle of next month.
