UNEMPLOYMENT RATE ONE PERCENT, KUWAIT REACHED FIRST PLACE AT GLOBAL LEVEL

Kuwait City: Kuwait topped the global and Arab rankings with the lowest unemployment rate (1 percent) in the 2021 list prepared by the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Daman). Meanwhile, Kuwait ranks fifth globally in terms of current account balance ratio and government debt-to-output ratio. 


Last year, Kuwait ranked first among Arab countries in most global indicators of trade-related country risks. Meanwhile, Kuwait ranks second in the Arab world and 38th globally on two COFAS indicators for assessing business climate and country risks. Kuwait ranked third in the Arab world in terms of GDP growth last year. It is at 166th position globally. However, in the 2022 Index of Economic Freedom, Kuwait fell 27 places and is now ranked 101st globally.
