A KEY FLIGHT DISRUPTION PROMPTS AN EASY JET OFFICIAL TO RESIGN

  • 04/07/2022

Following a string of flight cancellations and disruptions at the airline in recent weeks, EasyJet's COO has quit.

The airline wished Peter Bellew well and stated that he had gone "to pursue other business opportunities."

It follows the cancellation of tens of thousands of EasyJet flights, some of which were last-minute.

Unite, a trade union, criticised the airline last month for having "a lack of leadership" and urged Mr. Bellew to "take control."

EasyJet CEO Johan Lundgren said the airline was "totally focused on delivering a safe and reliable operation this summer" when he announced Mr. Bellew's resignation.
