SALARY DISPARITIES BETWEEN KUWAITI MEN AND WOMEN ARE WIDENING

Kuwait City: According to statistics, the wage disparity between men and women in Kuwait has worsened over the last five years. Looking at the data from 2016 to 2021, men outnumber women in the government sector. The Central Bureau of Statistics issued the results. The wage disparity between Kuwaiti men and women in the public sector has climbed from 27 percent in December 2016 to 30 percent. 


As of the end of December 2021, the average monthly wage for Kuwaiti men working in the government sector is 1,874 Kuwaiti dinars. During the same time period, the average monthly salary for Kuwaiti women was 1312 dinars. According to the data, there is a 30% disparity, or 562 Kuwaiti dinars. At the end of December 2016, the average monthly wage of Kuwaiti men working in the government sector was 1,726 dinars. In the meantime, the average monthly wage for Kuwaiti women was 1254 dinars. In 2016, the difference was 27 percent, or 427 Kuwaiti dinars.
