Kuwait City: Jarrah Al-Zaid, head of the Islamic Charitable Organization's Institutions Unit and Major Donors, and head of the volunteer delegation, stated that the organisation was able to implement the first phase of its relief programme to assist flood victims in Pakistan.

After the team returned to the country, Al-Zaid said in a press statement on Sunday that the programme resulted in the distribution of 2,550 food baskets to 15,300 needy people in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, and Sindh. He explained that the humanitarian goals of the visit were met in collaboration with the Kuwaiti embassy in Islamabad, as well as the office of the Charitable Organization and local associations in Pakistan.

It is worth noting that the recent floods in Pakistan's south and northwest have caused widespread devastation, affecting nearly a third of the country's land area, killing thousands and displacing more than 30 million people.
