1800 expat teachers will be terminated

Kuwait City, Feb 17: About 1800 expatriate teachers are awaiting their fate in light of the Ministry of Education's move to dispense with their services in some disciplines for which a national substitute teacher is available, most notably Islamic education, social studies, computers, art education and music.

An educational source revealed that the public education sector in the ministry has provided the administrative sector with their names to take necessary measures. There will be a meeting that will include the two sectors soon to develop a mechanism to terminate the services of this large number of educational staff and to set dates for informing them of decisions and signing them with acknowledgment.
