Kuwait could face environmental issues

Kuwait City, March 17: A field visit by members of the Environmental Affairs Committee of the Municipal Council to the waste dumping sites in Mina Abdullah and Shuaiba revealed an unsatisfactory situation. If the authorities do not join forces to solve it, an environmental disaster could affect the country, especially after the reports which described the environmental situation in Kuwait's landfills as highly dangerous due to the volume of gases emitted from those landfills.

And the chairperson of the committee, Engineer Alia Al-Farsi, stressed the need to go towards generating electric power, in addition to converting waste into RDF-produced fuel and fertilizers.
