Annual insurance for private vehicles reaches to KD 32

Kuwait City, April 7: The annual insurance for private vehicles will increase from KD 19 to KD 32 as of April 16, 2023, according to a number of decisions that Kuwait's Insurance Regulatory Unit approved on Wednesday. The value of the annual basic insurance premium for privately owned vehicles and vehicles owned by entities reaches to KD 53 based on the new structure for mandatory vehicle insurance for traffic accidents. 


Following the creation of an integrated e-car registration system, the committee approved amending the rates for the required insurance policy. The system was developed in collaboration with the interior ministry, insurance companies, and brokerage firms. The committee also stipulated that compensation must be received no later than 10 working days from the date the insurance claim was finalized.
