Vietnam asks social media users to prove their identities

Vietnam: According to the deputy minister of information and communications for Vietnam, all social media users will be required to prove their identities. The minister mentioned the requirement to combat online fraud. Facebook, Youtube, and TikTok are among the social media sites that Vietnam intends to include in the coverage of this decision. According to the Global Anti Scam Alliance, the Southeast Asian country has one of the highest number of online frauds in Asia, with financial, identity, and romantic scams being especially prevalent.
