Kuwait City: Before the upcoming meeting of the joint committee, it seems that the firm measures taken by Kuwait recently, driven by wide popular support, that stipulating the cessation of granting any visas to Filipino workers, and restricting entry to the country who already have valid residency, began to bear fruit. About 25 Filipino expatriates who hold visas were denied entry to the country, after their arrival at Kuwait Airport.

A delegation from the Philippine Ministry of Labor was scheduled to visit Kuwait during the period from 16 to 18 May to attend the meeting of the joint committee on the issue of employment. The sources indicated that the mission of the Philippine delegation is to try to bridge the gap between the two countries, after talks faltered regarding resolving the problem of recruiting workers that was ongoing between officials of the labor sector in the two countries.
