Ancient and complete Hebrew Bible sold for $38.1 million

The Codex Sassoon, a Bible thought to be from the late ninth or early tenth century, was bought on Wednesday for $38.1 million. According to Sotheby's, the Codex Sassoon, which was bought by U.S. Ambassador to Romania Alfred Moses on behalf of the American Friends of ANU, is the most expensive book ever to be sold at auction. It will go to the Tel Aviv-based ANU Museum of the Jewish People.
