Severe rain kills fifteen people in southwest China

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for greater attempts to safeguard the people from severe climate on Wednesday, and media outlets reported that torrential downpours has killed 15 people in the city of Chongqing in southwest China.

In recent weeks, torrential rain have caused deadly mudslides and flooding, and hailstorms and unusually high temperatures, which many believe are a result of global warming, have made life miserable in many parts of the country.
