Planet registers hottest day ever recorded

According to information from two climate monitoring organizations, this past week saw the highest global temperature ever measured. The highest average global temperature recorded by the US NCEP whose records date back to 1979, occurred on Monday at 17.0°C (62.62 degrees Fahrenheit). It increased even more on Tuesday, rising to 17.18°C. The previous high, 16.92°C was recorded in 2016.

On Wednesday, the Copernicus Climate Change Service of the European Union said that the global temperature on Monday was a record in its database.
