Statistics shows pattern of winter marriages and summer divorces in Kuwait

The pattern of marriage and divorce among Kuwaitis in 2022 have been revealed by official statistics. It is interesting to note that while divorce cases seemed to rise during the summer, especially in August, most marriages took place during the winter months.


With 969 marriages, March saw the most marriages ever. With 644 cases, August had the highest divorce rate. A total of 8,307 divorce cases were reported overall in 2022, including 6,393 cases involving Kuwaiti husbands and 1,914 cases involving husbands from other countries.
