Saudi and UAE approves the release of 'Barbie'

The film "Barbie", directed by Greta Gerwig, was facing censorship issues in the Middle East, including in Saudi Arabia, the region's top market. However, the matter appears to have been resolved as the film is set to be released on Thursday in Saudi and UAE. "Barbie" was initially scheduled to make its Middle East premiere on July 19th, two days prior to its arrival at the rest of the global multiplexes. The release was postponed to Aug. 31st after local censors proposed edits to the film.
