More than 100 dead in Afghanistan earthquake

Over 100 people have died in western Afghanistan after an earthquake measuring 6.3 magnitude hit close to the Iran border. The epicentre of the earthquake was about 40 kilometers western city of Herat. 

At least one thousand people are feared to have been injured and many more have been trapped under the rubble. The earthquake struck at approximately 11:00 local time (6:30 GMT) and caused at least three strong aftershocks.
