While a health official revealed that the stock of cancer drugs has become abundant and sufficient, he stressed that Kuwait is adopting a modern protocol in accordance with international standards for treating cancer cases. The source told that drug, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are available for all cases. He pointed out that statistics revealed 26,312 new cancer cases over 10 years, 51 percent of which were Kuwaitis, for a total of 13,441 cases.
The source stated that the five-year cancer recovery rate in general and for Kuwaiti cancer patients who were diagnosed between 2013 and 2017 was about 75 percent.
