Kuwaiti teachers express opposition towards implementation of fingerprint attendance system

The Ministry of Education's schools initiated a project to introduce the electronic fingerprint system on a trial basis for government school employees to log their arrival and departure, in addition to the traditional paper signature. As a result, schools at all levels witnessed an unprecedented level of attendance and dedication, particularly from certain teachers who were previously known for their lack of punctuality in the mornings.

Yesterday, approximately 70 teachers gathered in front of the Ministry of Education premises to stage a protest. Their main concern revolved around the implementation of the fingerprint attendance system for teachers in schools. It is important to note that their opposition is not against the system itself, but rather the inflexibility surrounding its implementation. They emphasized the need for flexibility, suggesting that it should be introduced at the commencement of the academic year and after the ministry's organizational structure has been approved.
