Amer Al-Ajmi, the government spokesperson and Head of the Local Affairs Sector, has denied the claims made by a representative on Monday regarding an imminent rise in fuel prices. He stated to Kuwait News Agency that the government has not yet reached a final decision on increasing fuel prices. Al-Ajmi stressed that the matter is still being discussed and examined within the Ministerial Committee for Economic Affairs, and no decision has been made so far. Earlier, MP-elect Shuaib Al-Muwaizri urged the government to postpone the decision to raise fuel prices by 25 percent starting from June 1, 2024. Al-Muwaizri highlighted that the Economic Affairs Committee in the Cabinet recommended this increase on March 27, and it was approved on April 1.
