The Ministry of Health is gearing up to launch the National Anti-Smoking Program 2024 in order to address the widespread issue of smoking and its harmful consequences. Entitled “Safeguarding Children from Tobacco Industry Influence,” the initiative will commence this Thursday, with the collaboration of multiple ministries, agencies, and state institutions. Dr. Abeer Al-Bahwa, the Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Ministry, disclosed the program's specifics to Kuwait News Agency earlier this week.

The primary goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking among all sectors of society, encompassing men, women, children, and adults. Scheduled to run until World No-Smoking Day on May 31, the campaign will incorporate a variety of events throughout Kuwait's six governorates.
