The Interior Ministry recently conducted an extensive inspection of housing for bachelors and took action by relocating several expatriates who were staying in Bneid Al-Ghar under Article 20 to a government shelter. The inspection team discovered a significant number of expatriates on domestic worker visas (Article 20) residing in various bachelor accommodations in Bneid Al-Ghar.
According to Kuwaiti regulations, expatriate domestic workers are required to live with their Kuwaiti sponsors, who employ them as domestic workers. However, these individuals were found to be residing in apartment buildings, in clear violation of these regulations. In consideration of the humanitarian aspect, these workers were transferred to a labor shelter where all their needs would be provided for.
