The United Nations Committee on the Rights of Women praised the progress made by Kuwait in adopting legislative reforms regarding women’s rights, such as prohibiting discrimination in employment in the private sector, prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace, and issuing Law No. 16 of 2020 regarding protection from domestic violence.

In its final recommendations for Kuwait, which were obtained by Al-Qabas, the International Committee recommended, after experts from the International Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) discussed Kuwait’s report with the official state delegation last May 21 in Geneva, Switzerland, that the International Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women be published. All forms of discrimination against women, and the Committee's general recommendations and reports are widely disseminated, in cooperation with the media.
