The Kuwait Poison Control Center has made significant strides in providing specialized preventive and therapeutic services in the country, effectively addressing 3,870 poisoning cases since its establishment in May 2023. As an affiliate of the Emergency Departments Council, it holds the distinction of being the first center dedicated to monitoring and treating poisoning cases.

Dr. Fatima Al-Kandari, Head of the Emergency Departments Council, recently showcased the center’s substantial advancements in managing poisoning cases across Ministry of Health facilities during a tour by Al-Rai. Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Aoumi, Head of the Center, outlined the center’s accomplishments after 13 months of operation, underscoring its role in offering expert guidance and treatment plans through a dedicated call center staffed by national specialists—doctors, pharmacists, and nurses available 24/7, including holidays.
