Kuwaiti building owners must now comply with mandatory resident validation

The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has issued a directive requiring property owners and homeowners to confirm that there are no fictitious individuals registered at their residential addresses. This measure is intended to ensure that only genuine residents are included in the records, and any inaccurate registrations are rectified. According to Jaber Al-Kandari, Deputy Director General for Registration Affairs at PACI, property owners must submit their fingerprints when requesting the removal of any non-resident persons from their address details.

Al-Kandari elaborated on the process for penalties related to incorrect address registrations. Once an address is deleted and the names are announced in the Kuwait Al-Youm (Kuwait Today) newspaper, there is a 30-day window for the concerned individual or head of the household to update their new address without facing a penalty. Following this period, a grace period of 15 days is granted, during which a fine of 20 dinars will be imposed for delayed address modifications.
