Expatriates' children require their father's consent in order to depart the country

The Ministry of Interior, via the General Administration of Ports – Airport Passports Department, has initiated a new protocol that prohibits any expatriate child from exiting the country without the consent of their father. This process necessitates the father's signature on a document provided by the Passports Department. The regulation is applicable solely to expatriates departing the country, regardless of whether the child is traveling with their mother or another relative in the absence of the father. Currently enforced at all ports, this regulation mandates that expatriate children obtain explicit consent and a signature from their father prior to departure. A spokesperson for the Ministry emphasized that this measure is intended to mitigate issues arising from marital disputes.
