Kuwait has revoked its controversial work permit policy affecting expatriates aged 60 and older who do not possess university degrees. This announcement, made by Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al Sabah, the acting Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Interior, marks a notable change in the nation’s labor regulations concerning older foreign employees. As a result of this cancellation, expatriate workers aged 60 and above with high school diplomas or lower qualifications will now be able to renew or transfer their work permits without incurring additional fees or meeting degree requirements. The system will return to its former state, thereby enhancing flexibility within the labor market.
