Indian PM Narendra Modi is set to make a historic visit to Kuwait on December 21-22, marking the first time an Indian prime minister has visited the Gulf country in 43 years . This trip is significant, given Kuwait's role as a reliable supplier of crude and LPG to India, as well as its large Indian community of over a million people ¹. As the only Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country Modi hadn't visited yet, this trip is expected to strengthen ties between India and Kuwait, which currently holds the GCC presidency . The visit was made possible after Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya extended an invitation to Modi during his visit to India earlier this month .
