Commerce Minister Ensures Stable Food Supply and Fair Pricing for Ramadan

In a proactive move to regulate market prices and ensure a steady supply of essential goods during Ramadan, Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel inspected Al-Qairawan Cooperative Society. Accompanied by key officials from the Commercial Control Sector and the Union of Cooperative Societies, he assessed food stock availability and pricing mechanisms to prevent unjustified price hikes. Al-Ajeel stressed the Ministry’s commitment to strict oversight, warning that legal action would be taken against any violations related to commodity pricing. He assured that authorities are working around the clock to prevent market exploitation amid rising consumer demand.

During discussions with cooperative society officials, the Minister reviewed measures to maintain food stock levels and prevent shortages. Officials confirmed that essential commodities are available in sufficient quantities and that monitoring efforts are in place to address any potential supply issues. Al-Ajeel urged consumers to report any irregularities and reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to protecting consumer rights. He emphasized that market monitoring efforts will continue throughout Ramadan to ensure price stability and the smooth flow of goods.
