Kuwait: The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the Charitable Societies and Endowments Department, has issued a directive to suspend all online charitable donation campaigns and projects.
The circular, sent to the boards of directors of all registered charitable societies and endowments, mandates the immediate suspension of all electronic links related to fundraising—whether on official websites or social media platforms—until further notice.
The decision, directed by the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, aims to safeguard public interest and ensure regulatory compliance.
The circular, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Jarida, warned that any violation of this order would subject the offending organizations to legal consequences.
