Under the supervision and field follow-up of Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, represented by the Criminal Security Sector, launched a large-scale security campaign on Friday evening. The operation was conducted in cooperation with the Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, the Ministry of Communications, and the Public Authority for Industry, after securing the necessary legal permits.

The campaign targeted homes illegally used for cryptocurrency mining activities. Authorities seized 47 homes involved in these violations and confiscated advanced mining equipment, citing serious breaches of the law.

The Ministry emphasized that unauthorized cryptocurrency mining places immense pressure on the public electrical grid, increasing the risk of widespread power outages that could impact residential, commercial, and service areas.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the property owners, and the Ministry confirmed that it will continue intensive security campaigns with other authorities to uphold the law and safeguard public infrastructure.
