Al-Abduljader Proposes "New Ahmadi" Highway to Ease Southern Kuwait Traffic

Fahad Al-Abduljader, a member of Kuwait’s Municipal Council, has submitted a proposal for the construction of a new strategic highway named the "New Ahmadi Corridor" to tackle growing traffic congestion in southern parts of the country. The new corridor would run parallel to existing major roads, including King Fahd Road and the Fahaheel Expressway.

According to Al-Abduljader, the proposed highway would begin in the Subhan area, extending from King Faisal Road (Airport Street), and continue southward to connect with King Fahd Road near Al-Julai’ah, or potentially reach all the way to the Nuwaiseeb border crossing. The new road is designed to improve connectivity between Kuwait City and southern regions, enhance traffic flow, and support the urban expansion driven by new housing developments in the south.

He emphasized the need for thorough coordination with the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport and the Ministry of Public Works to conduct comprehensive technical, traffic, and environmental impact studies. The project is aimed at ensuring sustainable infrastructure growth and easing transportation challenges linked to Kuwait’s future development plans.
