Kuwait: The country is expected to experience extreme heat over the coming days, with temperatures forecast to rise to 50 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to Dharar Al-Ali, Director of the Meteorology Department, the region is currently affected by active northwesterly winds exceeding 60 kilometers per hour. These winds are expected to trigger dust storms and significantly reduce horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters in exposed areas.
Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the strong winds and occasional dust storms will continue throughout the week. Temperatures will range between 47 and 49°C before peaking at 50°C, creating hazardous conditions due to extreme heat.
He also warned that sea waves could exceed six feet in height, further highlighting the impact of the current weather pattern. The meteorological changes are attributed to the influence of an extension of the Indian monsoon low, accompanied by a hot and dry air mass moving into the region.
