The Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait announced that a midday work ban in open areas will be implemented starting tomorrow, Sunday. The ban, effective daily from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will remain in place through the end of August.
This move, based on Administrative Resolution No. 535/2015, aims to protect workers from extreme summer heat and hazardous working conditions during peak midday hours. Acting Director Marzouq Al-Otaibi stated that the Authority's inspection teams will conduct surprise visits to work sites to ensure compliance and take legal action against violators.
Al-Otaibi emphasized that the decision is intended to regulate work during high-temperature periods rather than reduce working hours. He assured that projects will not be negatively impacted and that employers must prioritize the health and safety of their workers.
The policy aligns with Kuwait's commitment to international labor standards and has been well-received in previous years. The public is encouraged to report any violations by calling 24936192.
