In response to escalating regional tensions, Kuwait’s cooperative societies have activated emergency plans and formed special committees to ensure the steady availability of goods and food supplies for citizens and residents. Officials confirmed that the country’s food reserves remain secure and sufficient.
Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the People's Cooperative Society, Haya Al-Maqroun, announced the formation of an emergency committee to manage operations under the current circumstances. Measures include increasing storage capacity, stabilizing prices, extending working hours in key branches like wholesale and gas supply, and establishing a 90-day strategic reserve of essential goods.
Cooperative societies are also coordinating with suppliers to maintain uninterrupted supply chains and with the Ministry of Education to use schools for additional storage if needed. Health clinics have been included in the plan to handle emergency cases efficiently, ensuring community stability and food security during this period.
