Kuwait Seizes Main Chemical Warehouse Supplying Illegal Alcohol Factories

Kuwait’s General Department of Criminal Investigations has raided a key chemical warehouse in the Al-Rai area, which supplied toxic materials to local illegal alcohol factories. The warehouse, owned by an Egyptian national currently abroad, stored approximately 340 plastic containers (each 25 liters) of hazardous chemicals used in producing bootleg liquor that recently caused poisonings and deaths.

The chemicals were stored haphazardly in an unsecured location, posing severe risks of fires, explosions, toxic gas leaks, and environmental pollution. Authorities coordinated with the Public Fire Force to secure the site and handle flammable materials, while the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Kuwait Municipality initiated legal measures against the owner.

This operation follows earlier crackdowns on criminal networks manufacturing and distributing toxic alcoholic beverages. Kuwait is collaborating with Egyptian security agencies to pursue the fugitive owner and enforce cross-border legal actions.

The seizure underscores Kuwait’s intensified efforts to combat illegal alcohol production and protect public safety. By disrupting supply chains and penalizing offenders, authorities aim to prevent further health crises and environmental disasters, reinforcing a zero-tolerance approach to hazardous criminal activities.
