Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has arrested a criminal network operating through a domestic worker recruitment office in Fahaheel for human trafficking and illegally selling visas. Following investigations, a coordinated security raid was conducted on the office, leading to the arrest of the office managers and 29 female workers of Asian nationality who were found confined inside the office's residential area.
Investigations revealed that the office was engaged in a lucrative illegal scheme, issuing visas for 120 dinars and then reselling the workers' contracts for profits ranging between 1,100 and 1,300 dinars per worker. Testimonies from the workers confirmed they were subjected to forced labor, poor treatment, and confinement at the location.
The case has been formally registered with the Public Prosecution under charges of human trafficking and visa trading. All accused individuals have been remanded to central prison for 21 days pending further investigation. The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to rigorously pursuing and prosecuting those who exploit workers and violate the country's laws.
