Kuwait's General Department for Drug Control has dismantled a significant drug network and made a major individual seizure in two separate operations. In the first case, three individuals within Kuwait, including two soldiers from the Ministry of Interior, were arrested for operating a network that trafficked narcotics in several areas. The network is allegedly managed by an individual residing in the United Kingdom. Authorities seized 25 kg of marijuana, 100 Lyrica capsules, and smaller quantities of shabu and hashish, with an estimated market value of 150,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
In a second, unrelated case, a citizen from a Gulf country was arrested while attempting to bring a massive quantity of Captagon pills into Kuwait. A search found approximately 500,000 pills in his possession, intended for trafficking, with an estimated street value of one million Kuwaiti dinars.
The General Department of Narcotics Control reaffirmed its commitment to continuously monitoring and combating all drug trafficking and smuggling activities. The department emphasized it will take all necessary legal measures against those involved to protect society from the dangers of this scourge.
