KUWAIT REGISTER 864 DRUG CASES IN INITIAL 5 MONTHS OF 2021

Kuwait City: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday seizure and confiscation of a huge amount of various narcotics in addition to some unlicensed arms and ammunition between January 1 and May 31.


The MoI said in an articulation that the General Administration of Narcotics Control with the help of safety administrations held onto 650 kilograms of hashish, 22 kgs and 831 grams of amphetamine (shabu) pills, 21.851 kgs of heroin, between January 1 and May 31. 

Also, security staff had held onto 32.739 kgs of weed, 28.646 kgs of synthetic substances, 25 kgs of crude synthetic substances, 565 grams of cocaine, in excess of 9,000,000 psychotropic pills, 842 invigorating pills and 183 containers of alcohol during a similar period. The ministry added that 864 drug cases were registered, including 24 arrest-warrant cases, 107 cases of possession with intent to trade and 697 cases of possession with intent to use.

Up to 1,099 suspects were arrested and 325 of them were deported, the MoI statement added.
