SHAHEEN HURRICANE, OMAN ANNOUNCES EMERGENCY AID FOR DAMAGED HOMES

Muscat: The Council of Ministers of Oman has decided to provide one thousand Omani Rials as emergency first aid to each house damaged by Hurricane Shaheen.


The ministerial committee tasked with assessing the damage caused by Hurricane Shaheen has decided to provide emergency relief of 1,000 Omani riyals to each house damaged. Rehabilitation work is in progress to bring normalcy to the lives of the people affected by the cyclone. 

Roads, drinking water and electricity are the main areas of focus in Suwai and Khadara. The Disaster Management Force has already rescued more than 650 people from various parts of the country. At least 12 people have been killed in Hurricane Shaheen in Oman, officials say.
