ABU DHABI OFFICIALLY NAMED AS 'CITY OF MUSIC' BY UNESCO

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi has been officially named as a ‘City of Music’ by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. 


The emirate presently sits close by Liverpool in the UK, Auckland in New Zealand, Sevilla in Spain and Chennai in India as central focuses for music innovativeness as drivers of feasible advancement plans. 

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) drive, which was dispatched in 2004 to advance participation among urban areas and perceives imagination as a main consideration in their practical metropolitan improvement plans, made the declaration this week. 

Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, said: "Abu Dhabi's triumphant of this title fortifies the achievement of our attention on fostering the social and innovative enterprises, and to make the UAE one of the main local places of innovativeness. We are pleased with Abu Dhabi joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. 

"We have three particular imaginative urban areas in the UAE, which add to fortifying the nation's situation on the worldwide social and innovativeness map. Music frames a vital piece of Emirati legacy.
