Brigadier Khaled Mahmoud, Assistant Director-General of the General Directorate of Traffic for Planning and Research Affairs, confirmed that Kuwait's roads do not bear more taxis, and that there are no plans to grant licences to new taxi companies, pointing out that the Council of Ministers is in charge of granting approval or not, based on "what we have of Fair laws do not favour a person or a company."

Brigadier General Mahmoud told Al-Jarida that Kuwait has roughly 860 automobile rental outlets dispersed across the country, the majority of which are dedicated to activity controls.
