KUWAIT CITY, : According to report, the Fatwa and Legislation Department has given its opinion on the controversy surrounding private schools' exemption from paying rental payments for the facilities they use during the period when the schools were suspended.

From the day of school suspension until courses were resumed remotely, the schools announced that they were immune from payment.
Salah Al-Masad, the department's head, explained that the state's precautionary measures during the COVID-19 crisis were due to "an external reason beyond the control of the contractors," which resulted in the suspension of studies in public and private schools at all levels from March 1 to August 4, 2020.
