Kuwait is ranked 98th in terms of economic freedom

KUWAIT CITY : Kuwait climbed four places to 121 in the Human Freedom Index for 2021, published by the Fraser Institute in Canada and the Cato Institute in the United States, according to Al- Rai daily. Kuwait ranked fourth in the Arab world and first in the Gulf in the same index, while it ranked 98 globally in economic freedom.


The methodology behind the index is based on a ranking of 165 countries based on three key indicators: personal, civic, and economic liberty.

This year's annual indicator measures personal and economic freedom in the following areas: rules of law, security and safety, movement, religious belief, unions, assembly and civil society, expression and information, relations, government size, legal system and property rights, money, and international trade, using 82 sub-indicators.

Kuwait was placed 120th in the world and first in the Gulf on the index of personal freedom.
