THE HAJJ QUOTA FOR THIS YEAR HAS BEEN SET, 8.5 LAKH PILGRIMS FROM OVERSEAS OUT OF A TOTAL OF 10 LAKH

Riyadh: This year's Hajj will be permitted for eight and a half million foreigners and one and a half million pilgrims, including locals and foreigners from within Saudi Arabia. About 15 per cent of Hajj pilgrims will be from inside Saudi Arabia and 85 per cent from abroad.


Eight and a half lakh pilgrims from abroad are being allowed to perform the Hajj with the aim of making it possible for people from all over the world to perform the Hajj. For the past two years, only people from inside Saudi Arabia have been able to perform the Hajj due to the corona epidemic. 

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced yesterday that a total of one million pilgrims from within Saudi Arabia and abroad will be allowed to perform Hajj this time. Only those under the age of 65 who have completed the vaccine doses approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health will be eligible for Hajj. 

Pilgrims arriving from abroad are required to submit a negative report of the covid examination conducted within 72 hours before returning to Saudi Arabia.
