Turkey, Syria earthquake: Kuwait pledge $30 million in aid

Kuwait City, Feb 11: The Kuwaiti Cabinet pledged $30 million in aid for the earthquake-affected people in Turkey and Syria at the request of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the direction of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. According to a press release from the Cabinet on Thursday, the funding includes $15 million for Syria and an equal amount for Turkey's disaster relief efforts. Kuwait’s Fire Force Colonel Ayman Al-Mufareh stated that search and rescue efforts have begun in Turkey's earthquake-struck regions.
