Indian woman locked herself, son for 3 years over covid fear

India, Feb 28: A woman in India locked herself and her 10-year-old son in their home in Gurgaon for 3 years over the fear of contracting the Corona virus. The authorities rescued the woman, identified as Moonmon Manji, and her son, after her husband took refuge at the local police station.

A team of police, health officials and members of the Child Welfare Department arrived at the house and broke down the main door to rescue the mother and son. Then the mother and her son were taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials said the woman was in a state of panic over the pandemic and believed her son would die if he left the house.
