US Energy Department: Covid-19 likely caused by lab leak

Kuwait City, Feb 28: The US Department of Energy determined that the Covid-19 pandemic was most likely caused by a laboratory leak in China, according to a recently updated intelligence report. Two sources said that the Department of Energy stated in the intelligence report that it had 'low confidence' that the Covid-19 virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan. 

A low confidence assessment typically means that the data acquired is not trustworthy enough.The recent assessment further adds to the divide in the American government over the origin of the virus.
