The General Authority for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques announced that more than 24 million Iftar packages were distributed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative was part of the Kingdom's broader efforts to support worshippers and provide a healthy and seamless environment for prayer and reflection.
The distribution reflects the Islamic values of generosity, interdependence, and hospitality during the sacred month.
Over the course of Ramadan, more than 122 million Muslims visited the two holy mosques — 92.1 million at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and 30.1 million at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. The season marks the peak period for the Umrah pilgrimage, drawing millions of Muslims from across the globe.
On the 26th day of Ramadan alone, over 4 million worshippers, including around 800,000 Umrah pilgrims, attended prayers at the Grand Mosque. Many later traveled to Medina to continue their spiritual journey by visiting the Prophet’s Mosque and other Islamic sites.
