Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended Umrah, business, family, and visit visas for citizens of 13 countries, including India. The suspension will remain in effect until mid-June, after the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage season. According to the new guidelines, Umrah visa applications will only be accepted until April 13. After that date, no new Umrah visas will be issued until the Hajj season ends.
The move is aimed at preventing misuse of visit and Umrah visas by those attempting to perform Hajj without official registration. Authorities have reported frequent cases of individuals using non-Hajj visas to enter the Kingdom and perform the pilgrimage illegally. This not only causes congestion but also poses serious security and logistical challenges during the peak pilgrimage period.
To ensure safety and proper management of the Hajj, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has ordered strict enforcement of visa regulations. Those who overstay or attempt to perform Hajj without proper permits face a five-year entry ban.
Countries affected by the visa suspension:

Pakistan
Bangladesh
Egypt
Indonesia
Iraq
Nigeria
Jordan
Algeria
Sudan
