Emirates is honoring the South Indian harvest festival, Onam, by introducing a special festive menu for passengers traveling to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram from Dubai. Available in all cabin classes until September 6th, the offering features a wide array of authentic Kerala dishes. The menu includes classic starters like sharkara upperi and kaya varuthathu, as well as popular dips such as puli inji and cucumber pachadi. First and Business Class passengers will enjoy additional treats, including Kerala-style pappadam and mango pickle.
For the main course, travelers can savor traditional Kerala specialties like alleppey kozhi curry, a full vegetarian sadhya, and nadan kozhi kari, all served with chemba rice. First Class guests have the exclusive option of a Kerala-style chicken stew. The meal concludes with a choice of classic desserts, palada pradhaman or parippu payasam. To enhance the authentic experience, all meals are presented on a banana leaf dish liner, mirroring the traditional Onam sadhya feast.
Beyond the culinary experience, Emirates is complementing the festive spirit with its extensive entertainment options. Passengers can access over 6,500 channels on the ice system, which features 15 Malayalam films, 170 Indian movies, popular Indian TV shows, and music from top artists. This initiative is designed to provide a holistic cultural celebration for guests during the festival period.
